SETTING LIMITS ON HOW TO LOVE by the the Guardians of Our Doctrines (G. O. D)
by Longlivetherenegades ina balanced view of jesus’ role.
like those in christendom, the early bible students mistakenly allowed their love for jesus to overshadow their relationship with jehovah.
beginning in 1919, however, they came to see that jehovah and their relationship with him should be the focus of their worship.

More cracks in the dam - WTS pleading for elders "in their early 20s"
by FFGhost ini have another post here about how the wts is reeling from covid, as reflected in their abysmally catastrophic service report:.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6315842470936576/annual-service-report-yet-another-analysis-big-trouble-wts.
here's another rupture showing.. in the latest "announcements and reminders" to elders, there is a paragraph with these sentences:.

When the elder arrangement came in I was told the end was so close the CO would not be around for the second year appointments. I was a study conductor then. Reminds me of that scripture about comparing themselves to themselves. I was never in the right crowd
That Timothy age is not stated in the bible. In one talk he is in his 30s, next talk ( to make a different point) he is still a fuzzy cheeked teenager. Just like there presumptions about his father.

Still the old boys club in the way. Back when I did want to reach out i was plainly told to give up. They had the 5 buddies and didn't want or need any more.
I can see the next one here, young, good looking, no interest in girls, good speaker.

Faith-Apostasy-Atheism
by DoubtingThomas ini have been on m any different forums, and only carm is similar to this.. all the rest have rather hypocritical trust in god.. this and carm are for those who apostate to the wtbs and to god.. turned off by the gb, or hypocritical examples in the congregation, they drop worshiping god and their belief in the bible... for they know too much,.
that's why scripture isn't discussed, and jws like me, are demonized.. i am cool with that!
maybe some of you will come to their senses!.

Journey from believing god has a name that identifies him apart from others to wondering. Then agnosticism. Then atheism; but wonder where "stuff" originated.
Works are supposed to be a sign. I see good things from churches, jews, muslims, athiests. Guess who falls off the list?

Should young children peddle Watchtower Society literature?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inone thing i always disliked about the watchtower society is how they use young children tp peddle their literature.
my mom insisted that my brother (12 years old) and i (9 years old) go out in field service every saturday morning.
didn't matter if it was 90 degrees or 20 degrees, we were out peddling watchtower magazines.

Parents try to live through their children. Things like sports, music, politics. Where it goes wrong is witnesses do not instill life skills regarding work and education. Even the morals are somewhat phony

Way too close. Along with 1984, Mad Max, and idiocracy.

Can Jehovah's Witnesses explain the overlapping generation?
by pistolpete ini found this interesting topic on the current views among jws regarding the overlapping generation.. the posts are hilarious.
how do most jehovah's witnesses explain the overlapping generation?.
i've asked a couple of jws to explain the overlapping generation and they directed me to the website jw------org.. either they don't know, or they do know but don't want to discuss it because they know it's bogus and embarrassing.. either way, surely they must know that this just extended the last days another 80 years from the time fred franz died.

I know some who can quote the watchtower word for word on it. But not explain it.
I noticed they said Jesus apparently meant 2 generations then edited the apparently out.

We are now around 25 years past the point when Armageddon was to arrive as PROMISED!
by nowwhat? inabsolute worst case scenario, the last of the generation that saw the events of 1914 would have died off would be in the mid to late 1990's!
so we were told in the 1980's!
so now we 3/4 of another generation past that!.

Didnt you listen to conehead? A generation is 120 years or more.
I liked the Joseph reference that his brothers were far older, then same guy in another talk says they were early 20s and teens, shooting down their own shaky argument

Don't go, or Bankruptcy. I had a friend fall and get brain damage/ concussion working at a convention in a job that should not have been assigned to an elderly man. They lost their modest home and ended up living on charity from a witness.
Look at the teeth of speakers the WT has. Dental care is lacking and is a big gap in all USA health.
Emergency rooms are required to take anyone so a cold can become an emergency to get a doctor. Low ( really low) income can get Medicaid. Lots of poor know how to work the system.
The "Affordable care act" raised prices, installed deductables and out of pockets in the thousands so people with insurance suddenly had care only for catastrophic illness. The insurance companies, hospitals, and the doctor associations know how to manipulate treatment for profit, not outcome.
People point to deficiencies in Canada, UK, but they inevitably are employed in good jobs that provide expensive insurance for themselves.
There is a buried line item in the " "voluntary" congregation donation to insure COs. Any that get very sick are reassigned.
Remember, lots of well off witnesses encourage the part time job pioneer for everyone else
